Online brokerage eToro said it has begun offering tokenized versions of U.S.–listed stocks, exchange-traded funds and futures as ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain. Clients will be able to redeem the on-chain assets for the underlying securities through the platform, bringing conventional equities trading into a decentralized-finance environment. At the same time, the company is widening its round-the-clock access, extending 24-hours-a-day, five-days-a-week trading to 100 U.S. stocks and ETFs. The move supplements eToro’s existing crypto and foreign-exchange offerings, giving retail investors broader exposure to markets outside traditional exchange hours. eToro attributed the rollout to clearer regulatory frameworks, citing the United States’ Genius Act and the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) rules. The brokerage said putting stocks on blockchain could cut settlement times and operational costs while offering investors a unified venue for both digital and traditional assets.
