
NetEase Inc. reported its third-quarter earnings with a revenue of $3.73 billion, slightly above estimates of $3.65 billion. However, the company missed bottom-line estimates with an EPS of $1.44, compared to the expected $1.61. NetEase's net profit fell to CNY6.5 billion (USD932 million) from CNY6.8 billion a year ago, reflecting a 4% revenue decline to CNY26.2 billion (USD3.7 billion). The company's gaming revenue decreased by 4.2%, but cloud music and Youdao segments saw gross margin improvements, with YouDao at 50.2% and Cloud Music at 32.8%. Innovative Business and Others had a gross margin of 37.8%. Despite the mixed results, NetEase shares rose 12.13% in Hong Kong. In contrast, Nu Holdings Ltd. reported a revenue of $2.94 billion, narrowly missing the $2.95 billion estimate. The company achieved an EPS of $0.11, beating the expected $0.10. Nu Holdings' net income was 9% ahead of consensus but fell short by 4% at the pre-tax level. The stock experienced significant volatility, dropping 10.5% at open and closing down 2.9% at $15.19. Nu Holdings reported a YoY revenue growth of 37.79% and a YoY EPS growth of 71.43%. The company's market cap stands at $73 billion.
