Recent data indicates that the Russell 2000 index, which tracks smaller companies, has experienced a notable decline, falling approximately 9.4% since late January and 14% over the past 10 days, marking one of the worst stretches for small-cap tech in over 20 years, according to Goldman Sachs research. Additionally, the index is now down over 12% from its mid-March 2021 high. The Nasdaq has also faced a downturn, closing down 10.4% from its record high on December 16, confirming a market correction. These declines reflect broader challenges in the small-cap tech sector, which has been under pressure since late November.
