The S&P 500 has ended its longest streak of sessions without back-to-back losses in nearly 70 years. The index went 30 straight trading days without consecutive declines, marking the longest streak since January 2020 and the third-longest since 2005. This streak, which ranks among the very best since 1928, was broken on October 22, 2024. The last time the S&P 500 had consecutive red days was in early September. The Nasdaq also had a similar performance during this period. This was the longest streak since 1961.

The S&P 500 just ended its longest streak of sessions without back-to-back losses in 69 years. (I’d say “nice,” but it’s not.) https://t.co/3LgV6kJvrH https://t.co/YRMpEHUla2
If the S&P closes down today it would be the first consecutive red days for the S&P since early September. @sharkbiotech tells me it is the longest streak since 1961.
