U.S. value stocks have experienced a record decline, with the S&P 500 Value ETF falling for 14 consecutive trading days, marking the longest losing streak in history. This surpasses the previous record of 9 days, which had stood since the 1980s. The S&P 500 index has also seen a consistent trend of more decliners than advancers, with this streak reaching 14 days as well, indicating a broader market weakness. Analysts noted that the market has rarely been as weak under the surface, with the S&P 500 equal weight ETF closing lower than it opened for a record 14 days in a row, compared to the previous record of 12 days set in December 2018. The current market conditions have raised concerns among investors about the underlying health of the economy and market dynamics.
