Concurrently, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw a record-breaking $1 trillion in inflows, marking a 25% increase over the previous record. The total assets in U.S.-based ETFs reached a record $10.6 trillion by the end of November, reflecting a more than 30% increase from the start of the year. The surge in ETF investments was led by funds such as Vanguard's S&P 500 ETF (VOO), which saw $116 billion in inflows, and iShares' Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV), with $89 billion. Additionally, the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) ranked third with $37 billion in inflows, despite being less than a year old. The market also witnessed a notable increase in leveraged ETF assets, reaching a new high of approximately $120 billion in November, doubling since 2022 as market speculation intensified.
