Amazon has cut the price of every configuration of Apple’s 2025-vintage M4 MacBook Air by $200, lowering the 13-inch entry model (16GB RAM, 256GB SSD) to $799. The promotion, which went live on 19 August, marks a new all-time low and undercuts the marketplace’s own Prime Day offers by roughly $50. Higher-spec 13-inch versions now sell for $999 (16GB/512GB) and $1,199 (24GB/512GB), while the 15-inch line starts at $1,199 (16GB/512GB) and tops out at $1,399 (24GB/512GB). Launched in March at $999 and $1,199 respectively, the Air laptops feature Apple’s 3-nanometre M4 chip and were expected to remain at list price through the back-to-school period. The MacBook Air deal headlines a broader wave of late-summer markdowns on Apple hardware. Amazon has repriced the base M4 Mac mini to $499, and several M4 and M4 Pro MacBook Pro configurations are $300 below launch levels at both Amazon and B&H. The discounts suggest retailers are clearing inventory ahead of Apple’s customary September announcements, while also capitalising on student demand.
