The breach involved third-party payment-processing hardware, leading to the exposure of some American Express card members' account information. Other reported incidents include the sale of 800,000 user records from Gixen, a free eBay Auction Sniper Service, on a hacking forum by someone with the alias 'Chococat', and the alleged breach of AlgoSec's 227 GB database containing customer data and contact records. Additionally, more than 703,000 records from CollegeSearch and thousands of Booking.com accounts have been reportedly leaked, further highlighting the widespread nature of these cybersecurity incidents.
