OpenAI has announced significant increases in rate limits for its o1-preview and o1-mini APIs, particularly benefiting developers on tier 5 as well as Plus and Team users. For the o1-mini API, the rate limit has been raised from 50 messages per week to 50 messages per day, a sevenfold increase. The o1-preview API rate limit has also been increased from 30 messages per week to 50 messages per week. Additionally, for tier 5 developers, the o1-preview API now supports 100 requests per minute, while the o1-mini API supports 250 requests per minute. These changes aim to enable more extensive use of OpenAI's services for costs reasons and are part of ongoing efforts to further increase rate limits and expand access to more tiers.
