Popularium, a new studio co-founded by Magic: The Gathering creator Richard Garfield, has secured $2 million in seed funding for their debut title Chaos Agents. Co-founder Arka Ray mentioned that nearly 50% of the funding came from investors who grew up playing games from the founders. In other news, Benjamin Capital Partners raised $5.5 million for their cash rewards business, Shifty Eye Games raised $580,000 and appointed gaming luminaries as advisers, and Wargaming cofounder launched Mika Games to invest up to $50 million in mobile games.
