A newly discovered ransomware, named 'ShrinkLocker', is exploiting Microsoft's BitLocker encryption tool to target users. According to reports from Securelist on May 23 and May 24, ShrinkLocker encrypts files and renames the encrypted drive label to the attacker's email, effectively turning BitLocker into a ransomware tool. This malware has already been used against government entities, raising significant cybersecurity concerns.
