UnitedHealth's Change Healthcare pharmacy system has been down for a sixth straight day due to a cyberattack by the state-sponsored actor Blackcat, also known as ALPHV. The company is working with the FBI and Mandiant on forensics and system repairs. The FBI, which infiltrated Blackcat at the end of last year but failed to shut it down, along with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), has issued warnings about targeted BlackCat ransomware attacks against the healthcare sector. The attack has caused significant disruptions, preventing pharmacies across the United States from transmitting insurance claims. Federal regulators have responded by revising final guidance for healthcare cybersecurity and HIPAA compliance. Optum, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth, could have a 'material update' (possibly a resolution date) for the Blackcat cyberattack as early as tomorrow.

The FBI, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said a ScreenConnect remote access domain has been used during recent Blackcat attacks against health care providers. https://t.co/BXdnC0g7LA
