Y Combinator's current winter batch has seen a significant focus on artificial intelligence (AI), with nearly two dozen startups developing AI assistants. The accelerator has seeded more than 250 companies in this batch, indicating a strong lean towards AI technologies. One particular AI subcategory has seen nearly triple growth over the past year. In total, Y Combinator has funded 45 new companies in 2024, all aimed at revolutionizing developers' work with AI tools. The Demo Day for this cohort highlighted AI as a central theme. However, the cohort included only one startup from Latin America, largely due to the emphasis on AI.
