Hulu premiered its eight-part drama "The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox" at a red-carpet event in New York on 20 Aug 2025, with Amanda Knox and fellow executive producer Monica Lewinsky in attendance. Knox, whose 2007 murder conviction in Italy was overturned in 2015, said the project lets her present the case "in her own words" after years of intense media scrutiny. The series stars Grace Van Patten as Knox and draws on Knox’s memoir "Waiting to Be Heard" to retrace her arrest, four-year imprisonment and eventual exoneration. Hulu is releasing the first two episodes on 20 Aug, followed by new installments each Wednesday through 1 Oct. The production is backed by Disney, Hulu’s parent company. Lewinsky, who has spoken publicly about the long-term fallout of scandal, joined the project in 2017 and developed it with "This Is Us" executive producer K.J. Steinberg and veteran producer Warren Littlefield. Knox continues to advocate for the wrongfully convicted and hosts the podcast "Hard Knox," where she and Lewinsky discussed the series’ focus on bias and the lingering effects of public vilification.
