Netflix has released the first poster and confirmed an October 3, 2025 global launch for “Monster: The Ed Gein Story,” the third installment of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s true-crime anthology. The season stars Charlie Hunnam as the Wisconsin murderer and grave robber whose 1950s crimes inspired fictional villains from “Psycho” to “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.” The new chapter follows the streamer’s hit entries on Jeffrey Dahmer (2022) and brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez (2024). Netflix’s synopsis says the eight-episode run will trace how Ed Gein’s obsession with his mother and grave-robbing escalated into two confirmed murders and a house filled with human remains, reshaping American horror lore. The cast also includes Tom Hollander, Laurie Metcalf, Vicky Krieps and Lesley Manville. Production is handled by Murphy’s banner with executive producers including Alexis Martin Woodall and Eric Kovtun. A fourth season centered on Lizzie Borden is already in development.
