HBO Max has launched Season 2 of “Peacemaker,” and the premiere immediately rewrites franchise history by replacing the Snyder-era Justice League cameo that closed the first season with a new appearance by the DC Universe’s Justice Gang. The revised flashback now shows Hawkgirl and Guy Gardner—played on screen by Isabela Merced and Nathan Fillion—arriving alongside shadowed figures of Superman, Supergirl and Mister Terrific, formally locating the series inside the continuity being built around 2025’s forthcoming “Superman.” Showrunner and DC Studios co-chief James Gunn told reporters the simple reshoot avoided elaborate multiverse explanations, noting that “normies don’t care about all this canon stuff.” The move allows John Cena’s anti-hero and his supporting cast to appear across future DCU projects without further narrative contortions. Beyond the continuity reset, the new season features an expanded 80-second opening dance sequence set to Foxy Shazam’s “Oh Lord” and will roll out weekly on HBO Max.
