The Qilin ransomware gang has claimed responsibility for multiple cyberattacks, including breaches of a cancer clinic and an OB-GYN facility, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The group reportedly exfiltrated private correspondence, personal information, and official decrees from the Ukrainian ministry. In a related development, the Medusa ransomware has also emerged as a significant threat, targeting over 400 victims since January 2023, with a 42% increase in attacks from 2023 to 2024. In early 2025, more than 40 attacks were reported, with ransom demands ranging from $100,000 to $15 million. Microsoft Exchange vulnerabilities have been identified as a common entry point for these cyber threats, underscoring the need for heightened vigilance among cybersecurity professionals.
