The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga ordered a campus-wide lockdown on Thursday after reports of a possible active shooter in either the University Center or the campus library. An emergency alert sent at 12:42 p.m. ET instructed students and staff to “Run. Hide. Fight.” and remain in place while police secured the area. Chattanooga Police said they were working with campus police to confirm initial 911 calls of shots fired. As of 1:20 p.m. ET, officers had found no victims and had not confirmed the presence of a gunman. A large multi-agency response—including the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the state Office of Homeland Security—continued to sweep campus buildings late Thursday afternoon.
