Multiple members of the U.S. Congress have announced the opening of nomination applications for admission to the nation's five Military Service Academies: the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Deadlines for submitting nomination requests vary by congressional district, with dates ranging from September 25 to October 17, 2025. Several representatives, including Rep. Jahana Hayes, Rep. Glenn Ivey, Rep. Ted Lieu, Rep. Brecheen, Rep. Chuck Edwards, Rep. Nikema Williams, Rep. Donalds, Rep. Ellzey, Rep. Young Kim, Rep. Thompson, and Vern Buchanan, have provided resources and information on how to apply. Events such as Service Academy Days and information sessions are being hosted to help prospective students, parents, and educators learn about the admissions process and academy life. Some offices are also organizing Q&A sessions and application challenges for middle and high school students, with opportunities to have winning projects displayed in the U.S. Capitol. These efforts aim to encourage and assist students interested in pursuing a career as commissioned officers through these academies.

Proud to have completed another Office hours session as part of my service to the people of California’s 19th Congressional District. Too many people think Congress is just about yelling and screaming; it’s actually about listening and working together https://t.co/UmZBdMP8r8
