Hearst Corporation reported a record revenue of $13 billion for 2024, marking a 9% increase from the previous year, according to an internal memo from CEO Steven Swartz. The company's business-to-business (B2B) media sector accounted for over 50% of total profits, with political advertising contributing significantly to revenue. However, Swartz cautioned that a slowdown in growth is expected in 2025, highlighting concerns over a potential 'massive drop off' in political ad spending following the 2024 election. He also noted that the company is focusing on artificial intelligence, cord-cutting, and mergers and acquisitions as key areas for future development. Meanwhile, TelevisaUnivision reported a 1% decline in fourth-quarter revenue year-over-year, totaling $1.3 billion, despite an influx of political ad spending. The company noted a 2% revenue gain in the U.S. for the fourth quarter of 2024, amounting to $835.5 million, with subscription and licensing revenue improving by 5% to $346.5 million.
