FBI Los Angeles Office Investigated 19 Clinton Foundation Accounts for 2016–17 Campaign Finance Fraud Before DOJ Shut Probe
Newly declassified FBI documents reveal that the FBI's Los Angeles Field Office was investigating at least 19 Clinton Foundation bank accounts for possible campaign finance fraud during 2016 and 2017. The investigation was described as "sensitive" but was ultimately shut down by the Justice Department. Additionally, FBI investigators working on the Clinton Foundation corruption case were reportedly barred from examining over 300,000 emails from Hillary Clinton's Weiner laptop, which were relevant to determining whether Clinton exchanged influence for foreign funds through the foundation. Judicial Watch has highlighted these developments, asserting that the investigation was halted under the leadership of former FBI Director James Comey and the Obama administration.
