Archer Aviation has raised $300 million in equity funding, backed by BlackRock and other institutional investors. This funding will be used to accelerate the development of Archer's hybrid aircraft platform, expand its manufacturing capabilities in composites and battery cells, and strengthen its balance sheet. The company aims to leverage this capital to meet both civilian and defense demands, including its partnership with defense technology firm Anduril. Archer's total liquidity now stands at approximately $1 billion. This funding follows a $430 million round in December, which included investments from United Airlines and Anduril. Despite challenges in the electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) industry, analysts believe Archer is well-positioned to achieve certification and sustain its operations.
