Babylon, a Bitcoin staking protocol, has officially opened registration for its airdrop, which will run from February 25 to March 15, 2025. Eligible participants include early stakers, NFT holders, and contributors to the project's GitHub repository. Babylon aims to provide a self-custodial staking solution for Bitcoin, allowing users to earn staking rewards without relying on third-party custodians or bridging solutions. The project has previously attracted significant interest, with over 135,000 participating addresses and 55,700 Bitcoin staked during its pre-staking phase. Babylon's upcoming token generation event (TGE) follows a successful $70 million funding round led by Paradigm in May 2024. The airdrop is expected to distribute 5% of its tokens, which could value between $1 billion and $3 billion at launch, as Babylon positions itself as a leading layer 1 blockchain for Bitcoin.
