Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has received a $2 billion investment from MGX, an Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund focused on AI and advanced technologies. This marks the first institutional investment in Binance and MGX's first entry into the cryptocurrency and blockchain sectors. The transaction was fully paid in stablecoins, making it the largest investment ever conducted in cryptocurrency. MGX's investment secures a minority stake in Binance, which operates extensively in the UAE with approximately 1,000 of its 5,000 global workforce based there. This deal is part of a broader strategy by MGX to support the transformative impact of blockchain on global finance. The investment also reflects the growing institutional adoption of digital assets and the increasing role of blockchain in financial technology, serving Binance's over 260 million registered users.
