Coco Robotics has raised $80 million to expand its fleet of autonomous, zero-emission delivery robots. The financing round is backed by Sam Altman, linking the Los Angeles-based start-up to OpenAI’s broader push into real-world applications of artificial intelligence. The company says its sidewalk robots have already completed more than 500,000 deliveries for restaurant chains such as Subway and Jack in the Box. The new capital will be used to scale the fleet to about 10,000 units by 2026 and deepen partnerships with food-ordering platforms like DoorDash, underscoring growing investor interest in AI-driven solutions for last-mile logistics.
