Datadog, a New York-based observability and cloud security platform, has acquired Metaplane, an AI-powered data observability startup founded in 2020 and based in Boston. Metaplane provides end-to-end data observability with machine learning-powered monitoring and column-level lineage to prevent, detect, and resolve data quality issues across the entire data stack. The company has raised $22 million from investors and is led by CEO Kevin Hu. The acquisition is intended to help data engineers proactively address data quality and observability challenges, as data teams play a growing role in building and maintaining AI applications. Metaplane will continue to support existing and new customers as 'Metaplane by Datadog.' Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Separately, Endor Labs, an application security company with 133 employees and offices in Palo Alto and Bangalore, has raised $93 million in a Series B funding round led by DFJ Growth, with participation from Salesforce Ventures and others. This brings Endor Labs' total funding to $163 million. The company is led by co-founders Varun Badhwar and Dimitri Stiliadis. Endor Labs specializes in tools that scan AI-generated code for vulnerabilities, integrating with programming assistants such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor. The platform secures over 5 million applications, performs more than one million scans each week for clients including OpenAI, Dropbox, and Peloton, and has seen 30x annual recurring revenue growth since its Series A in 2023. Additionally, Lace AI, a Mountain View-based startup founded by former Meta engineer Boris Valkov, has raised a total of $19 million since its inception, including a previously unannounced $5 million pre-seed round and a recent $14 million seed round led by Bek Ventures. Lace AI, which currently has 20 employees, develops AI-driven customer service software for home service companies and claims 1,000% annual recurring revenue growth in 2024, working with over 100 businesses.
