Dublin-based Protex AI has successfully raised $36 million in a Series B funding round, aimed at expanding its operations in the United States. The investment, led by Salesforce Ventures, will enable Protex to enhance its AI-powered workplace safety technology, which utilizes existing camera infrastructure to monitor and prevent workplace incidents. The startup's platform analyzes security video footage to identify unsafe behaviors, such as workers not wearing hard hats. Protex AI's founder, Dan Hobbs, credited the company's success to its roots in the BT Young Scientists initiative. The funding comes at a time when demand for advanced safety solutions in industrial settings is increasing.
