The European Investment Fund (EIF) has announced a €350 million commitment to Kembara Fund I, marking the first Spanish fund under the European Tech Champions Initiative (ETCI). This investment aims to support scale-ups in deeptech, climatetech, and sustainable technology across Europe. The EIF's involvement is part of a broader strategy to unlock €10 billion for EU tech scale-ups, with 15 investments currently underway. Kembara Fund I targets a total size of €1 billion, making it potentially the largest venture capital fund in Spain. The EIF has backed eight funds under ETCI so far. Key figures involved include Javier Santiso and Marjut Falksted.
