
In 2023, Finnish startups experienced a significant drop in funding, with growth funding decreasing to €871 million from €1.7 billion the previous year. Foreign investment in Finnish startups also declined, leading to a challenging outlook for the industry. Despite this, Finnish VC funds managed to raise €507 million in new capital, maintaining fundraising levels close to records. Global trends showed a halving of startup investments but an increase in Finnish VC fundraising, almost reaching all-time highs.
