Global venture funding in February 2025 totaled $19 billion, marking one of the slowest months for startup investments in the past year, according to Crunchbase data. The U.S. accounted for $10 billion, or 54% of the total. AI led with $5.7 billion in funding, accounting for 30% of global investments, followed by healthcare at 22%, hardware at 18%, and manufacturing at 15%. Women founders and investors in the U.S. raised $38.8 billion in 2024, a 27% increase year-over-year, but their share of total VC funding dropped to 25.1% from 26.4% in 2023, according to PitchBook. Female-only teams accounted for just 2% of overall VC funding. In India, assets managed by women fund managers doubled to Rs 13.45 lakh crore in 2024, representing 20% of the mutual fund industry's total assets. The mutual fund sector saw a 27.52% overall growth. The number of women fund managers increased from 42 to 49, though they remain a minority in the field. In Brazil, the number of women investing in the stock market reached a record 1.38 million in 2024, a 7% increase from the previous year. Women now account for 26.26% of investors, with the majority aged between 25 and 39. Since 2020, the number of women investors has grown by 85.6%.
