Oscar-winning actor Halle Berry is expanding her off-screen career into women’s health with a full relaunch of her wellness platform Respin as a menopause-focused healthcare provider. Berry, 58, said a personal experience in which her perimenopause symptoms were misdiagnosed as herpes prompted her to address gaps in medical knowledge and care. Respin, originally started in 2020 as a fitness and lifestyle brand, now offers 30-minute telehealth consultations with menopause-trained clinicians for $55, personalised lifestyle plans and group coaching. The company has raised under $5 million from investors including Khosla Ventures and introduced its first digital health services in July. Berry’s push comes as demand for specialised menopause care grows. About 1.3 million U.S. women enter menopause each year, yet fewer than 2,500 physicians hold relevant certification. Research firm Grand View values the global menopause market at $17 billion and expects it to reach $24 billion within five years. Named to Forbes’ 2025 ‘50 Over 50’ list, Berry joins a cohort of entrepreneurs and advocates using their later-career influence to tackle women’s health issues such as Alzheimer’s and reproductive ageing. “Fighting for women’s health, that to me seems like a legacy worth leaving,” she said.
