IonQ reported its fourth-quarter earnings with recognized revenue of $11.7 million, surpassing the high end of its guidance range of $7.1 million to $11.1 million. However, the company recorded a net loss of $202 million and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $32.8 million for the quarter. The earnings per share (EPS) came in at $(0.93), missing the consensus estimate of $(0.21). Despite the financial setbacks, IonQ's revenue showed a year-over-year increase of 92%, with full-year revenue reaching $43.1 million, up 95% from the previous year. The company also announced plans for a $500 million shelf offering. In a strategic move, IonQ is acquiring Geneva-based ID Quantique and forming a partnership with South Korea's SK Telecom, which involves SK Telecom swapping its entire stake in ID Quantique for a 3% stake in IonQ, valued at approximately $228 million. This acquisition aligns with IonQ's focus on expanding its quantum networking capabilities.
