MegaETH, a new Layer 2 solution for Ethereum, has secured $30 million in funding with participation from Vitalik Buterin. The project aims to enhance Ethereum's performance by achieving Web2-level speeds and real-time capabilities, targeting decentralized applications (DApps) that require immediate responsiveness, such as real-time gaming and high-frequency trading. MegaETH is designed to support 100,000 transactions per second (TPS) and is built on Starknet, utilizing a fork of Reth v1.0.5. The testnet for MegaETH is set to launch soon, with Chain ID and Network ID both designated as 6342. The initiative is part of a broader trend toward improving interoperability between blockchain networks, as highlighted by various industry experts discussing the evolution of blockchain structures and the importance of seamless connectivity across platforms.
