Planet A Foods, a Munich-based B2B foodtech startup formerly known as QOA, has secured $30 million in a Series B funding round to expand its production of cocoa-free chocolate. The company aims to create a sustainable chocolate alternative using sunflower seeds, which could significantly reduce carbon emissions associated with traditional cocoa farming. By switching to its cocoa-free chocolate, Planet A Foods estimates that it could help avoid 500 million tons of CO2 emissions annually. The startup plans to launch its product in the UK in 2025.
