Supabase, a Postgres-centric developer platform, has raised $80 million in a Series C funding round. This latest investment brings the company's total funding to $196 million, following an $80 million Series B round in 2022. Supabase has experienced significant growth, with over 900,000 developers signing up to use its open-source, managed Postgres platform in just four years. The company, co-founded by Paul Copplestone and Ant Wilson, aims to redefine database management and continues to expand its PostgreSQL platform. Supabase is part of the YC S20 batch, and 50% of current YC companies use its platform, according to TechCrunch.
Huge congrats to @kiwicopple @AntWilson & @supabase team on the new $80M round - great validation as they’re building / scaling the formative backend / major database built on Postgres > close to 1M signups in less than 4 years ! That’s why we @felicis led the Series B 2 years…
We first invested in @supabase before their YC Demo Day in 2020. @kiwicopple & @AntWilson are two of the best engineers we’ve met — perfect combination of technical & commercial sensibilities. Amazingly 50% of current YC companies use Supabase. A true rocketship. Congrats 🚀 https://t.co/fETvQC1slp
We're excited to be along for the @supabase journey with @AntWilson, @kiwicopple! “Build in a weekend. Scale to billions.” 🚀 https://t.co/rP9HNUVvhB
