Upstage, a South Korean AI startup specializing in AI-native document intelligence tools, has secured $45 million in a Series B bridge funding round led by the Korea Development Bank (KDB), Amazon, and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). This latest funding brings Upstage's total capital raised to $157 million, following a $72 million Series B round in 2024. The company plans to use the new funds to accelerate the development of its next-generation AI model and to expand its presence in the United States and the Asia-Pacific region. Concurrently, Microsoft’s Work Trend Index 2025 highlights that Indian businesses are expected to lead globally in deploying AI agents. Additionally, several AI companies have announced new initiatives and platforms: Globant introduced Globant Enterprise AI 2.0 featuring a marketplace of AI agents tailored for industries; Lightning AI launched the first multi-cloud GPU marketplace that integrates NeoClouds and hyperscalers, offering up to 70% cost reductions; Hexaware and upGrad debuted the Agentic AI Academy to advance AI workforce transformation; and Confluent unveiled scalable real-time agentic AI with streaming agents.
