Web3 gaming start-up PlayWildcard has raised $6 million in new financing, according to information shared by the company’s backers. The round was led by crypto investment firm Paradigm with participation from ArbitrumPlay, giving the developer additional capital to expand its player-versus-player arena title that blends real-time strategy, MOBA combat and collectible card mechanics. Wildcard, created by Playful Studios, integrates blockchain features such as NFTs and uses the Arbitrum Layer-2 network for in-game assets. The company said the proceeds will be used to refine gameplay, widen play-testing and build out ownership features ahead of a broader release.
