ZKcandy, a gaming-focused Layer 2 blockchain powered by ZKsync, has successfully raised $4 million in a private funding round. The round was led by Wemix Pte. Ltd., with participation from Animoca Ventures, Spartan Group, and other investors, including Perlone Capital, Presto Labs, and Flowdesk. ZKcandy, operated by iCandy Interactive, plans to use the funds to develop the first Telegram-based EVM gaming ecosystem, expand its network of partners, and prepare for its mainnet launch in 2025. During its open-testnet phase, ZKcandy demonstrated significant engagement, with over 2.4 million wallets created in two weeks. The company currently has over 25 games in development, including one based on a popular licensed IP. CEO Lau Kin Wai stated that the funding will help make Web3 gaming more accessible and foster a secure and rewarding environment for users.
