Venezuelan pay-TV and internet provider SuperCable halted all operations on 18 August after the country’s telecommunications regulator, Conatel, revoked its operating concession on 14 March. The company informed customers that both its subscription television and broadband services would be disconnected as it complies with the order. Independent network monitor NetBlocks reported a sharp drop in traffic on SuperCable’s autonomous system AS22313 shortly after the announced cutoff, corroborating the nationwide shutdown. Neither Conatel nor SuperCable disclosed how many subscribers are affected or whether the firm will pursue legal action or compensation.
