Capcom and Square Enix announced at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live 2025 that their flagship titles—Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV Online—will share a two-part crossover beginning this autumn. Monster Hunter Wilds will introduce the four-legged raid boss Omega Planetes from Final Fantasy XIV, Chocobo mounts and related cosmetics in Title Update 3, scheduled for late September 2025. Final Fantasy XIV will roll out its portion of the event in early October, adding the Arkveld trial, a Seikret mount and other Monster Hunter-themed rewards. The collaboration revives a partnership first seen in 2018 between the two franchises and is aimed at sustaining player engagement ahead of the holiday content cycle for both games.
