ZA/UM, the studio behind the award-winning 2019 role-playing game "Disco Elysium," used Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase on 19 Aug 2025 to unveil its next project, "Zero Parades." The announcement was accompanied by a cinematic trailer that preserved the team’s trademark isometric viewpoint and narrative-heavy style. Marketed as a “story-rich espionage RPG,” the title casts players as Hershel Wilk—also referred to as Cascade—who returns from a botched mission and is drawn into a struggle among bankers, techno-fascists and other factions in a new city setting. The Steam page emphasizes choices, failure and improvisation, echoing the reactive design that defined "Disco Elysium." ZA/UM did not provide a release window or confirm platforms beyond PC via Steam. The project arrives after several years of internal upheaval and high-profile departures at the studio, leaving the remaining team to build on the critical expectations set by its debut hit.
