Microsoft’s real-time strategy title “Age of Empires IV” will launch on Sony’s PlayStation 5 on 4 November 2025, broadening the audience for a franchise that has until now been confined to PC and Xbox consoles. The PS5 version arrives as the Anniversary Edition and will debut alongside a premium add-on, “Dynasties of the East,” and a new roguelite mode called The Crucible, giving new and returning players additional content on day one. The move continues Microsoft’s recent practice of bringing select first-party games to rival platforms, a strategy aimed at expanding software revenues beyond the Xbox hardware base.
