Paradox Interactive says it is revising plans to charge players separately for two playable clans in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, after widespread criticism from fans and media outlets. The publisher had announced that the Lasombra and Toreador clans would be locked behind the $21.99 Shadows and Silk add-on pack, or included in the game’s $89.99 Premium Edition. The base game retails for $59.99. Critics argued that gating core character classes—central to the vampire RPG’s playstyle and narrative—effectively split the launch content. In a message posted to the game’s official Discord, community developer DebbieElla said Paradox and developer The Chinese Room are “listening to your feedback … and we’re making adjustments ahead of launch to reflect this,” promising further details “as soon as possible.” The company did not specify whether the clans will now be included in the base version or offered through another model. Bloodlines 2, scheduled for release on 21 October 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, has already undergone delays and a change of development studio. A reversal or significant modification of the day-one DLC strategy would mark the latest course correction as Paradox seeks to calm its player base and preserve momentum ahead of launch.
