The Pokémon Company has unveiled Mega Victreebel, the latest Mega Evolution slated to debut in Pokémon Legends: Z-A when the game launches for Nintendo Switch and the forthcoming Switch 2 on 16 October 2025. The carnivorous, pitcher-plant Pokémon—last seen in its standard form in first-generation titles—was introduced in a horror-themed “Sweet Scent Incident” trailer that evokes found-footage survival motifs. Mega Victreebel is the second new Mega form confirmed for the title, following Mega Dragonite. Pokémon Legends: Z-A will also feature Z-A Battle Club, a four-player competitive mode first detailed during the Pokémon World Championships in Anaheim. Players who purchase the standard Switch edition will be able to upgrade to the enhanced Switch 2 version, which offers higher resolution and smoother frame rates, through a paid add-on.
