Sega and Bandai Namco used Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live showcase to announce that their flagship mascots will cross over into each other’s next releases, marking the first major collaboration between the two decades-old franchises. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, scheduled to launch on 25 September 2025, will ship with a Pac-Man crossover pack in its first season pass. The downloadable content adds Pac-Man, the four ghosts and a Pac-Village circuit based on the series’ iconic maze. An open beta for the arcade racer begins next week on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac, due a day later on 26 September 2025, will reciprocate with Sonic-themed DLC arriving in early 2026. The add-on introduces three Green Hill–inspired stages and a Sonic costume for Pac-Man, allowing players to speed through the remake’s platforming levels in blue-blur style. Both publishers said the content will reach all supported platforms in “early 2026” but have not yet disclosed pricing. The twin DLC roll-out is designed to extend post-launch support for the two titles and deepen cooperation between the long-running series.
