Leaked code and multiple reports indicate that Apple plans to introduce Touch ID on its 2026 Apple Watch model, marking a return of the fingerprint authentication feature to the wearable device. While the upcoming Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3, expected to launch soon, are anticipated to be minor upgrades, the 2026 model could feature significant changes including a new design and additional sensors alongside Touch ID. In parallel, Apple is also developing a foldable iPhone set for release in 2026, which is expected to include five cameras, an Apple cellular modem, and the return of Touch ID. This foldable iPhone follows the 2025 launch of an ultra-thin iPhone Air and precedes the 20th-anniversary iPhone upgrade planned for 2027, highlighting Apple's strategy of introducing markedly different iPhone designs over three consecutive years.
