Sony has introduced the Inzone H9 II, its new flagship wireless gaming headset for PC and PlayStation 5. The second-generation model, available immediately for $349.99, headlines a refreshed Inzone peripheral range announced on 19 August. The H9 II borrows the 30-millimetre carbon-fibre drivers from Sony’s WH-1000XM6 headphones, adding 360-degree spatial audio, active noise cancellation and a detachable boom microphone. Weighing 260 grams, the headset delivers up to 30 hours of play on a charge, with a five-minute quick-charge yielding about an hour of use. Connectivity options include a low-latency 2.4 GHz USB-C dongle for consoles or PC and simultaneous Bluetooth for mobile devices. Sony says it worked with esports organisation Fnatic to develop first-person-shooter sound presets and redesigned the headband and ear cushions for comfort during long sessions. The launch lands amid a flurry of Gamescom hardware reveals: Beyerdynamic rolled out MMX 150 and MMX 230 wireless headsets for Canada and Europe, while Razer and Asus unveiled themed peripherals and tandem-OLED monitors. Sony’s upgrade intensifies competition in the premium gaming-audio segment, where makers are trading off battery life, latency and sound quality to win over serious players.
