The United States government has suspended the processing of most visa applications for Zimbabwe until further notice. The U.S. Embassy in Harare confirmed the suspension, citing issues related to the Zimbabwean government. This action follows a broader U.S. policy that recently imposed visa restrictions on government officials and their families from several countries, including African nations, Brazil, Cuba, and Grenada, due to concerns over forced labor linked to Cuba’s medical cooperation teams. The suspension specifically affects Zimbabwe and remains in effect until further updates are provided by U.S. authorities.
