Cohere, a leading AI company, has launched Command A, a new AI model designed to enhance enterprise efficiency. Command A features 111 billion parameters and supports a 256K context length, making it capable of processing long-form documents. The model also supports 23 languages, catering to global business needs. Command A is optimized to operate on just two GPUs, significantly reducing the computational resources required compared to other leading models. This efficiency results in a 50% cost reduction for enterprises when deployed privately, making it a more affordable option for businesses looking to leverage AI technology. The model achieves a token generation rate of 156 tokens per second, which is 1.75 times faster than GPT-4o and 2.4 times faster than DeepSeek-V3. The model's performance is competitive with other top AI models, excelling in various enterprise applications, including instruction-following, SQL-based queries, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with verifiable citations. It also features advanced RAG capabilities, tool use, and strong multilingual support. However, the weights of Command A are currently available only for research purposes, with restrictions on commercial use.
