Slingshot AI has launched Ash, the first artificial intelligence application purpose-built for therapy, designed to expand access to mental health care. The AI model behind Ash was developed in partnership with Together Computer over 18 months and trained on clinical data, including more than 50 therapeutic modalities and real therapy sessions. Ash is now available to consumers on iOS and Android platforms after testing with over 50,000 users. The launch follows a $53 million Series A extension funding round, bringing total investment in Slingshot AI to $93 million. The company aims to provide meaningful therapeutic support while respecting human agency, positioning Ash as a novel approach distinct from general-purpose AI models. Prominent investors and venture capital firms such as Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Radical Ventures, and Menlo Ventures have supported the initiative. The co-founders of Slingshot AI include Daniel Reid Cahn and Neil Parikh, who have received recognition for their work in pioneering AI-driven mental health solutions.
We’re thrilled to back Salient cofounders @arimalik95 and Mukund Tibrewala as they streamline the complexities of consumer lending with AI. Millions of Americans have some form of consumer debt, but interacting with customer service often involves outdated, manual processes. https://t.co/vUUHVAe3Kg
